Parcel Tycoon Tape and Stamp Box: How to Finish a Parcel

The verified finishing steps that take an arranged parcel to ready-to-ship: bottom tape first, fill and wrap, flip, close the lid, seam tape, then stamp the right declaration type.

A packed box in Parcel Tycoon is not ready to carry until you close it yourself. Taping and stamping are steps you perform at the packing table, not automatic results — the game's official description sums up the loop as "drag every item in, turn it, tip it, wrap the fragile ones, fill the gaps, tape it shut and stamp it right." The full closing routine, demonstrated order by order in play, is: tape the bottom, fill and wrap, flip the box, close the lid, tape the top seam, then add the stamp/label with a declaration type that matches the contents.

When to begin finishing a pack

Finishing starts before the first item goes in: the first tape pass goes on the bottom of the open box. Make it step one at the table, because skipping it costs a walk back mid-order — one player realized exactly that: "Oh, yeah. We have to go tape the bottom." From there, the routine runs straight through to the seam tape, and it repeats on order after order ("Okay, let's tape it."), so it's the standard closing interaction at the packing table rather than a one-off.

If you're still arranging the box itself, the Parcel Tycoon packing guide covers the full packing loop from order pickup onward.

How to tape the box shut

  1. Tape the bottom first, while the box is still empty and open.
  2. Drag the items in, turning them as needed to fit — the game's own phrasing is "turn it, tip it." Getting pieces to sit right is its own skill; see how to rotate items.
  3. Wrap anything fragile in bubble wrap before it goes in ("Right. Wrap."), or before you close up — the fragile-item wrapping guide covers the details.
  4. Flip the box over ("Now you actually going to flip this."), so the open top faces you.
  5. Close the lid ("Just close it up.").
  6. Run tape along the top seam ("Tape the seam."). In the demonstrated routine this pass only happens after the lid is closed.

Both tape passes — bottom and seam — are interactions you perform at the table, not something the game does for you when the box is full. No specific key for the tape action is confirmed in available footage, so expect to work through the table's own closing interaction once the box reaches that stage.

How to stamp the parcel

With the seam taped, the sealed parcel gets its finishing mark at the table. The official description calls this "stamp it right," while the playthrough narrates it as adding a label — either way, it happens right after taping: "Okay, let's add my label. Standard." That mark carries the parcel's declaration type, and you set it to match what's inside. Five types show up in play:

Declaration typeSet it when the box holds
StandardOrdinary contents with nothing that needs a special flag — the default pick in play
FragileBreakable items
HeavyHeavy loads
DryDry goods — one order was set to Dry simply "cuz there's a cup in there"
LiquidAnything wet or spillable

Match the declaration to the actual contents: a fragile, heavy order in the demonstrated run was declared as fragile and heavy rather than left on Standard. The sources never show what a mismatched type does, so pick the one that fits the box and you're following the routine exactly as shown.

Is the stamp required to ship? Every parcel in the demonstrated run was stamped before drop-off, and each one handed off cleanly ("let's drop it off. Perfect."). What never appears is an unstamped parcel being judged at dispatch either way — so treat the stamp as part of the standard finishing routine, exactly as the official "tape it shut and stamp it right" phrasing does, and it will never be the question you're asking at the dispatch point.

Checking the box is ready to carry

Before lifting a parcel off the table, run this quick check:

  • Bottom taped (done before filling)
  • Items in, with fragile ones wrapped
  • Lid closed and box flipped right-side up
  • Top seam taped
  • Stamp/label on, with a declaration type matching the contents

When all five are true, the parcel is sealed and declared — that's the moment to carry it to the dispatch point. The hand-off, payment and everything after that point are covered in the guide on how to ship parcels.

Two finishing mistakes that cost time

  • Forgetting the bottom tape. This is the one slip shown in play, and it's recoverable — the player simply went back to the table and taped it before continuing.
  • Taping the seam before closing the lid. The demonstrated order is flip, close, then seam tape; the seam pass belongs to a closed box.

One thing that does not hold you up: imperfect packing. A snug, optimized pack earns bonus cash — "SMALLER BOX, BIGGER PAY" — so filling gaps and picking a right-sized box pays off at the till. Choosing that box is its own topic; see how to pick the best box size.
